The Anna Sollewijn \/ Chris Muller Quartet<\/strong> brings together two of the most promising young voices in Dutch jazz: vocalist Anna Sollewijn (24)<\/strong> and pianist Chris Muller (26)<\/strong>. They met at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam<\/a>, where their shared love for jazz and soul led to an immediate musical connection. With their quartet, they offer a fresh and contemporary perspective on the Great American Songbook, the music that continues to inspire and unite them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December 2025, they will record their debut album at Wisseloord Studios, joined by Cas Jiskoot (bass)<\/strong> and Tim Hennekes (drums)<\/strong>: four of the Netherlands\u2019 top young jazz musicians breathing new life into the American Songbook. The album features standards newly arranged by Anna and Chris, blending virtuosic vocal improvisation, lush harmonies, and influences from classical and soul music to show that this repertoire is as alive as ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was born out of a shared period in New York, where Anna and Chris immersed themselves in the city\u2019s jazz scene, the birthplace of the American Songbook. There, they discovered how timeless and relevant this music remains. After their successful solo releases in 2024 (Anna\u2019s debut EP<\/a> of original compositions and Chris\u2019s big band album Turning Thoughts<\/em><\/a>) they felt inspired to return to the roots of jazz and reinterpret it in their own voice.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna Sollewijn<\/strong> is a versatile vocalist, composer, and arranger who effortlessly blends jazz, pop, and soul. She has performed at renowned venues and festivals such as the Newport Jazz Festival<\/a>, Grachtenfestival<\/a>, and Bimhuis<\/a>, and toured with Dutch icon Karin Bloemen<\/a>. After her studies, she spent time in New York and will tour the Netherlands with her own theater show in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
